The Airport OGRE is a tool designed for pilots to assist in self familiarisation, briefing and TEM at unfamiliar airfields.
The app has the following features:
- Hazard identification checklist arranged by operational area/topic
- Mitigation guidance for hazards
- ICAO airfield categorisation
- Primary occurrence category summary
- PDF report
The hazard identification checklist provides a comprehensive set of hazards to assist in identifying specific ones at an airfield, when familiarising (use of accurate charts etc required).
Possible mitigations are suggested, which the user can select or disregard. These are guidance only.
The OGRE also highlights which hazards could potentially become factors in primary occurrence categories, if not mitigated. These include primary occurrence categories identified within the industry ie LOC-I, CFIT, RE etc.
The Airport ICAO category is based off the basic ICAO checklist for categorisation and is shown for info only.
The summary provides a PDF showing the selected hazards (and any chosen mitigations) and can be used as a self-briefing summary or as a resource to supplement threat and error management.
